Darlingtonia is an unusual pitcher plant from Northern California into Southern Oregon. It's common name is Cobra Lily due to the serpent like appearance of the pitchers. They produce showy, downturned flowers with long yellow sepals and purple petals. They have a reputation for being difficult to grow but as long as you keep their roots cool, they grow well outdoors.
